Roberto Soldado goal gave Tottenham three point against Everton

Tottenham came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 to move to within two points of a Champions League berth.

Everton took the lead at White Hart Lane in the 15th minute through Kevin Mirallas, however that lead was short lived.
Christian Eriksen equalised six minutes later before the Spanish striker Roberto Soldado added a second second before the end of the first half.

That strike saw the forward end a drought of 593 minutes without a goal in all competitions.

Spurs moved up to seventh on 20 points, two adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United.

Defeat sees Everton drop to 10th on 17 points. 


Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he is very happy to see his side beat Everton in a very important match.
 "Yes, very pleased. I'm very happy because today was an important game for us. The result is important to get the three points and after the performance was very good and happy. Very pleased with the team, our players and say thank you to our supporters because today wasn't easy. From the beginning, their first shot they score, we concede a goal and after we turn the result in the first half and I think it was important that our supporters help the team." ~ said Mauricio Pochettino
Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado scored after 593 minutes in all competitions his goal gave Mauricio side a vital win against rival Everton.
"Yes, always you need to give the confidence to the player to keep working hard always. Maybe, during these last times it was not easy, but you always need to motivate the player. He is always frustrating for the striker when he doesn't score, but today Soldado score and I think he is happy, he is more free because he feels the pressure, but it's important for the team that our striker start to score goals."  ~  Mauricio Pochettino added
