Cristiano Ronaldo hit 23rd hat-trick and 200 La liga goals
Cristiano Ronaldo broke the Spanish La Liga record with his 23rd
hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday which
also saw him reach 200 La Liga goals.
Real Madrid equalled the Spanish record of 18 successive wins with a 3-0 success over Celta Vigo on a night when Cristiano Ronaldo reached a series of landmarks.
The Portuguese forward won a penalty in controversial circumstances - contact with Jonny Castro appeared to be minimal before Ronaldo tumbled in the box.
He slotted home the resultant spot kick.
He made it 2-0 in the 66th minute and converted from Marcelo's cross in the 81st minute to register his 23 hat-trick and surpassed Telmo Zarra and Alfredo di Stefano for the most Primera Division hat-tricks.
Ronaldo's startling scoring rate has seen him net 23 goals in just 14 league games this season and has now scored 200 La Liga goals since joining Real Madrid in 2009.
