Southampton faces tougher challenge
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman admits he faces a 'difficult'
challenge without 'key' midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin as he held a news
conference on Monday
France international Morgan Schneiderlin was forced off the field at half time in Southampton's 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says his team face a difficult challenge against Arsenal without their influential midfielder.
Koeman says he has a lot of respect for Arsene Wenger who he thinks will weather the calls for him to be sacked.
"I am the manager of Southampton. I have a lot of respect for the character of (Arsene) Wenger because he is a long time Arsenal (manager). He is doing a fantastic job. But, like I said before, teams like Arsenal, if they don't fight for the title there are some critics. He is more experienced than I am. He will handle that - no problem." ~ said Koeman
The Southampton boss is also satisfied with his squad at the moment and doesn't foresee a busy January transfer window.
"We think about our team and we think always about making the team better than we have but I am pleased with the players that we have and if there's any moment to think about what we have to do in January we have to do it but I don't comment on names of players or of rumours and if we need somebody we will sign in somebody." Koeman added
