Arsenal will bounce back against Everton
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said on Friday (27th February) that he was
looking for a good response from his squad in Sunday's game against
Everton, following a disappointing 3-1 defeat at home by Monaco in the
Champions League in midweek.
"Look, I think I said what I had to say after the game and I maintain exactly what I said, and there's not more to add. For us what is important for us now is to respond well. We are on a strong run in the championship, in the Premiership and it is to respond to that disappointment in a strong way on Sunday afternaoon. That's all we can do.
It's a different competition. We are back in the top three in the Premier League and we have an opportunity to stabilise this position. We want to take it." ~ Wenger
Everton has qualified for round of 16 in Europa League but that doesn't move Wenger because he believes it a different competitions.
"Yes, they have gone through, well done to them, but it's two different competitions, Europa League and Premier League and we are... we know that our strength at home will be vital and important to strengthen our position and that's why we have an opportunity against Everton that we want to take."
Wenger spoke about the decision to play the FIFA World Cup in November/December, He said what matter most is to have a successful World Cup he said it doesn't matter if they have to reorganize the Premier League.
"No, I don't think it will impact too much if you have to reorganise the Premier League. I just think always that if a World Cup is successful, that is very important because it is a world festival basically, for football and it has to be organised in decent conditions. That would not be the case in the summer and I'm personally glad that if we play the World Cup in Qatar, it's not during the summer, because I would be concerned for people who attend there, for their safety and that's why it was the only sensible decision to make."~ Arsene Wenger
