Ten-man PSG knock Chelsea out of the Champions League
with a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday ,
progressing on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline.
Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday, in an
ill-tempered match at Stamford Bridge as Paris St-Germain reached the
last eight on away goals after extra time.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho berated his side saying they don't deserve to qualify for the next round because the players had failed defend well against a team with less players.
"When a team cannot defend two corners and concedes two goals from the corners, that team doesn't deserve to win. When a team cannot cope with the pressure of playing with one player more and playing at home and in a stadium that doesn't accept that the team cannot control the game and they want the team to win it - I think we couldn't cope with that pressure." ~ Jose Mourinho
PSG twice came from behind to exact revenge for their quarter-final exit last season, despite playing the last hour of normal time - and 30 minutes of extra time - with just ten men after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off for a foul on Oscar.
Gary Cahill's late goal seemed to be sending Chelsea through until a blistering header from their former defender David Luiz sent this last-16 tie into extra time.
A penalty from Eden Hazard put Chelsea ahead once more, but Thiago Silva made amends for the hand-ball that led to the penalty with a clinical header six minutes from time.
