Michel Platini re-eleceted as UEFA President for another four years

Michel Platini was re-elected as President of UEFA for a third time on Tuesday (24th March) at the 39th UEFA Ordinary Congress in Vienna.

Michel Platini was re-elected as UEFA president for a third four-year term on Tuesday.

Platini was unopposed to extend his presidential reign, which started in 2007, and was acclaimed by the leaders of UEFA's 54 member federations.

Platini also retains his FIFA vice presidency for four more years.

The former France great opted last year not to stand against Sepp Blatter in the FIFA presidential election in May.

UEFA president Michel Platini said they love FIFA and all Europe's community loves FIFA dearly.

UEFA may seems to love FIFA but not Blatter as UEFA is supporting all three candidates opposing Blatter: Michael van Praag of the Netherlands, Luis Figo of Portugal and Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan.

UEFA president  Michel Platini "Do not believe everything that you hear. We Europeans want a strong FIFA - a FIFA that is respectable and respected - since FIFA is and always will be football's supreme authority, the sport's ultimate governing body. Certain people are perhaps trying to turn us against each other, seeking to divide and rule. They are trying to isolate the supposedly arrogant and selfish Europeans. Again, do not believe everything that you hear. Yes, we know that we are in a privileged position. Yes, we know that we make mistakes and are not necessarily any better than anyone else. However, you should know that we are willing to work with you, hand in hand, for the good of world football, for the good of the 209 national associations worldwide, and for the good of FIFA."
