Stoke City seek for their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1984
Mark Hughes said on Thursday (2nd April) he was "really pleased" to sign
a new contract with Stoke City as his team prepares to face Chelsea in
the English Premier League on Saturday (4th April).
Stoke go into the encounter having failed to take a win away from Stamford Bridge since 1984.
"Really pleased. What it gives me and the staff and the club is continuity and that is a rare thing in football these days it seems. I've had 18 months here, really enjoyed every moment of that and to get a commitment from the owners, they've liked what they've seen and want to move forward again, is really satisfying. We are in a good place at the moment."
"It's been a long time we've needed to address that. We've been able to go to the likes of Manchester City, Spurs away this year, our away form has been good. We've proved we can get positive results. So we'll have to do more of the same hopefully at the weekend."
