37-year-old and his Foundation have worked tirelessly in the areas of education and health, with financial and material support helping hundreds of children in his native Ivory Coast and later this year, a brand new medical clinic will open in his hometown of Abidjan.

"I come from a poor family where I played football in the streets with my friends with no shoes, there was no grass but we still enjoyed it," said Drogba, who donates all of his commercial and sponsorship earnings to the Foundation. "There is nothing better than when you see a kid with a smile on his face and that is why I'm trying to help.

"I want to do a lot of things in Africa, I want to give people the chance to dream, and it is easier to dream when you are in good health and happy."

Drogba recently held a charity ball to raise money for the Foundation. The event, which raised £400,000, was attended by stars such as Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, Bransilav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Juan Cuadrado, Nemanja Matic, Thierry Henry, Louis Saha, Edgar Davids, Jermaine Defoe and John Terry.

The money raised will be used to complete the medical clinic and help finance mobile clinics that will travel outside Abidjan to those who are to sick or poor to make the journey to the capital.

Barclays are committed to helping the next generation of fans fall in love with football and for the remainder of the 2014/2015 season Barclays will give supporters the chance to win tickets to their favourite team every week via the Barclays Spirit of the Game website.
Barclays will also be giving away more than 8,000 tickets to local communities in partnership with Barclays Premier League clubs.
