"We changed a few things at half-time and pushed further up the pitch and really came into the game I thought. I thought we got a deserved goal, a very good goal, and we were well in the game, well in it, and obviously with a couple of minutes left to go you think that we should probably see that out to be honest with you. It's a poor goal from the cross for their first goal and we should defend that a lot better, you know, the last few minutes you should be shutting up shop, which we talked about a lot. So it's disappointing to see that go in, really we should have come away with the win in the end."~ said Garry Monk

Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe said Liverpool goalscorer Mario Balotelli "got his just-rewards" for his recent efforts in training.Eight-time English League Cup winners Liverpool are into the quarter-finals of the competition after they came from behind to beat Swansea City 2-1 on Tuesday.

"Yeah of course and that's Mario. He's working hard, and as I said the other day, in training and he got his just-rewards, you know, obviously coming on and getting the goal." ~ said Colin Pascoe

"No, not at all, I mean the way we played we were always going to create a chance. I thought we were unfortunate to be honest to be 1-0 down, I thought the way we played is possibly the best we've played all season, you know, with the character of the lads to keep going and to get the win in the end." He added

Marvin Emnes gave Swansea a 65th minute lead, but substitute Mario Balotelli equalised in the 86th minute.
It was the Italian's second goal since joining from AC Milan, having failed to score so far in the English Premier League this season.

Another summer signing, Dejan Lovren, headed in Philippe Coutinho's free kick in stoppage time to seal their progress into the last eight.
