Man city faces Roma in a must win or burst match

Roma coach Rudi Garcia and forward Gervinho talk on the eve of Wednesday's (10th December) decisive UEFA Champions League Group E clash against Manchester City.

Roma coach Rudi Garcia said Wednesday's match against Manchester City for second place in the Champions League Group E will be "like a final".

"This match for us is like a final. Normally at the sixth match we should have been already out, at the draw we were in the forth group of teams and they are the Premier League champions. But thanks to our quality and our efforts we have the chance to play this final in front of our fans, the Olimpico will be on fire. We have this chance, and like I said before the first match against CSKA Moscow, we have to put everything in this match." ~ said

Roma is level on points with City and CSKA Moscow, which plays first-place Bayern Munich away, and Garcia's men will qualify with a win.

An equaliser in the third minute of stoppage-time gave CSKA Moscow a 1-1 home draw against the 'Giallorossi' two weeks ago.

Roma striker Gervinho said last Champions league group match against Manchester City is a special one.

"It's true it is an important match, but it is a match like any other as well. What makes it special is that we want to go through, it's good for us players, good for the club. But there is no particular pressure, we prepare the match as usual."

City manager Manuel Pellegrini hads confirmed striker Sergio Aguero damaged a ligament in his knee in the 1-0 win over Everton in the English Premier League - and will not play on Wednesday.

Aguero, the league's top scorer with 14 goals, was in tears after getting hurt in the second minute of the game at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

City need to beat Roma to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stage, but will also play without suspended Yaya Toure.

City are back in form, winning the last five matches in all competitions, but the Mancunians have never won in Italy.

Roma rallied from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo with a stoppage-time equaliser from Adem Ljajic - but missed the opportunity to close the gap on Serie A leaders Juventus.
