Manchester City qualify for Champions League knockout stage with a 2-0 win against Roma.

Samir Nasri scored one goal and set up another as Manchester City won 2-0 at Roma on Wednesday (December 10) to reach the knockout phase of the Champions League, eliminating an Italian side that still seemed to be feeling the effects of its 7-1 thrashing by Bayern Munich.

Manchester city beat As Roma by 2 goals to go next to the knock out stage but surprisingly they do that with the absent of important players like  Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero that almost incredible

It looked as if Roma was set to go through until Nasri found the target with a long, rising shot on the hour mark.
Then Pablo Zabaleta doubled the visitors' lead in the 88th minute following a perfect pass from Nasri.
Roma's best chance was a header against a post post from Kostas Manolas in the 72nd minute.
 
 Manchester City manger Manuel Pellegrini believe his boys deserve the qualification because they played very well from the beginning to the end of the match against Roma he said he was expecting the qualification after seeing his side beat Bayern Munich.

"Not relief, because I think we always trusted, especially after we beat Bayern Munich, that we have a lot of chances to qualify here. I'm very happy, first of all because we won against a very difficult team in a very difficult stadium also, and also in the way we played, I think that we played very well from the beginning until the end".~ Manuel Pellegrini
 

Bayern Munich easily won Group E - considered perhaps the competition's toughest - with 15 points following a 3-0 home win over CSKA Moscow. City finished second with eight points, Roma were third with five and will play in the Europa League. CSKA finished last, also with five points.
The victory was all the more impressive considering City were playing without their three top players.
Top scorer Sergio Aguero is out with a serious knee injury, star midfielder Yaya Toure was suspended, and captain Vincent Kompany sat out injured.
