Former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has been handed a 10-month jail sentence for breaching police orders to keep out of his property after it was seized by authorities.

Ex- Real Madrid and Juventus Star Fabio Cannavaro has been jailed for 10 months for entering his own home.
The Ballon d'Or winner broke the law by entering his property after it had been seized by authorities.

The current Guangzhou Evergrande coach has been been under investigation for tax evasion.

One million euros (1.135 million US dollars) of goods linked to Fabio Cannavero's wife was seized by authorities back in October 2014.


Cannavaro captained Italy at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The defending champions crashed out of the competition. losing to Slovakia after drawing against New Zealand and Paraguay. Following Italy's failure to progress past the group stage, Cannavaro announced his retirement from international football.

On 5 November 2014, Cannavaro was named as new head coach of Chinese Super League title-holder and four time champion, Guangzhou Evergrande, replacing his former national team manager Marcelo Lippi. He was formally unveiled by the club on the same day.
