The Brazil captain has been in fine form this season, stepping out of Messi's shadow since the Argentine became injured. During this time, he has scored 10 goals in eight games, and helped guide his team to the top of La Liga.
Pique is pleased with Neymar's performances while the Catalans' main star has been sidelined, and revealed a certain facet of play the Brazilian is the world's best in.
"(Neymar) is the most supportive player I have seen since the day he arrived," the Spaniard said in an interview for Movistar+.
"He has known exactly how to play it, while knowing that Leo is the protagonist; and when Messi hasn't been around, he has taken the reins of the team and played even better.
"In one-on-ones, there is no one like him – he's the best in the world at that."
According to Squawka, Neymar has attempted the most take-ons in La Liga with 43, while Messi, who has played four league games less, sits in second spot with 39 take-ons.
However, the Argentine still beats the 23-year-old when it comes to success rate, with 80% of his take-ons being successful compared to Neymar's 55%.
Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, has only attempted 15 take-ons this season and successfully completed 44% of those.
